Join us Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 12pm for our webinar Navicular Syndrome and the Clinical Use of Bisphosphonates in Equine Practice with Dr. Brett Robinson. This presentation will review the definition, clinical signs and diagnosis of navicular syndrome in horses. The processes of bone modeling and remodeling will be discussed as they relate to the pathogenesis of navicular syndrome. Building on this, the basic principles of Bisphosphonates will be detailed and OsPhos (clodronate injection) will be discussed as an effective, safe treatment in the multi-modal approach to addressing the complexity of navicular syndrome.
Dr. Brett Robinson grew up in the Los Angeles area riding horses and competing through the upper levels of three-day eventing. She received her bachelors from Georgetown University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. She then went on to complete a one-year rotating internship at Littleton Equine Medical Center in Colorado, followed by a position as an associate veterinarian at a two-doctor equine general practice just north of Denver. In July 2017 she returned to her home state of California to join San Dieguito Equine Group as an associate veterinarian, working mainly on English sport horses, Thoroughbred racehorses, and polo horses. Dr. Brett joined Dechra as an Equine Professional Services Veterinarian in February 2022 and currently lives in San Marcos, California.
