2024 has taken off with a roar with two highly successful programs in the last week (Feline Chronic Pain and Soft Tissue Surgery.) Two new events are coming soon and are available for registration now.
Happening online on Tuesday, January 30th is our DEI Workshop. This two-hour workshop will examine the root causes of implicit biases while offering solutions for working equitably through these predispositions. This 2-hour session will satisfy upcoming health equity training requirements for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Our next DVM Masterclass focused on Equine Osteoarthritis and Chondroprotective Therapies is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20th at noon.
Both of these workshops will be recorded and made available after the event as well.
Registration for a new DVM Masterclass Intensive, Canine Orthopedic and Neurologic Conditions, has just opened. This 4-hour virtual intensive will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2024 from noon to 4:00 pm.
We will review several common canine orthopedic and neurologic conditions with a focus on conservative management utilizing a variety of integrative veterinary medicine therapies. Therapies discussed will include physical rehabilitation, photobiomodulation (laser), acupuncture, and other potential modalities.
12:00 – 1:00 pm Integrative Therapies for Orthopedic Conditions of the Canine Forelimb
A review of several canine orthopedic conditions of the forelimb and conservative management utilizing integrative therapies. These conditions include common tendinopathies of the shoulder, carpus, and digits.
1:00 – 2:00 pm Integrative Therapies for Orthopedic Conditions of the Canine Hindlimb
A review of several canine orthopedic conditions of the hindlimb and conservative management utilizing integrative therapies. These conditions include iliopsoas injuries, stifle conditions, and calcanean tendon injuries.
2:00 – 4:00 pm Integrative Therapies for Neurologic Conditions
A two-part review of common canine neurologic conditions and conservative management utilizing integrative therapies. These conditions include intervertebral disc disease, degenerative myelopathy, brachial plexus injuries, and geriatric onset laryngeal paralysis polyneuropathy (GOLPP).
About the Speaker
Dr. Jessica Bunch graduated from Washington State University in 2002, and went into private practice for 14 years, first in mixed animal then small animal practice before coming back to WSU in 2016 to develop the Integrative Veterinary Medicine service at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She became certified in canine rehabilitation in 2013, acupuncture in 2017, has received additional training in Chinese herbal medicine and is currently pursuing an alternative track residency in canine sports medicine and rehabilitation. She has served as the University Liaison, President and Past-President for the American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians. In 2022, Dr. Bunch received the John J. Sherman III Award for Excellence in Veterinary Rehabilitation from the AARV. Dr. Bunch is currently an Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Veterinary Education at WSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
