Dr. Charles (Chuck) Root (WSU, 1966), passed away on Aug. 31 at the age of 81. Born in Montana, Dr. Root graduated with his DVM from WSU after switching from an engineering program. Following graduation, he attended Colorado State University to complete his residency in veterinary radiology. He spent 57 years in the profession, the last 39 years as owner and referral clinician at Animal Medical Imaging in Bothell. Dr. Root was well-respected in the veterinary community and loved his profession. He served on the Executive Board and as WSVMA president in 1991. He’s survived by his wife Joann, three children, Jodi, Andrea, and Brian; son-in-law Rachid, daughter-in-law Janine as well as four grandchildren.
A celebration of life is being held on Sat., Oct. 21, 2023 at 2pm at Washington Cathedral, 12300 Redmond-Woodinville Rd. NE, Redmond, WA 98052.
