As we noted last week, Dr. Gary Marshall was successfully elected as Vice President of AVMA. In addition to many other roles Dr. Marshall was the Washington State Alternative Delegate to AVMAS’s House of Representatives.
The Board of WSVMA has decided that it will nominate Dr. Kathy Hickey to be Dr. Marshall’s replacement as an Alternate Delegate.
Dr. Kathy Hickey is the Managing Veterinarian at Poulsbo Marina Veterinary Hospital on the Kitsap Peninsula. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Washington State University in 2006. Dr. Hickey is a past-president of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association and the founder and past-president of the Peninsula Veterinary Medical Association. She is honored and excited to represent Washington veterinarians at the AVMA alongside Dr. Diana Thomé, and welcomes any questions or feedback. She can be reached at [email protected].
In her free time Dr. Hickey enjoys backpacking, reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband have two adult children, two grandchildren, and two senior pets.
