Applications are still being accepted to WSVMA’s Power of Ten Leadership Academy. Power of Ten is a WSVMA initiative designed to help recent graduates develop foundational skills in leadership, communication, and business. Ten participants will be selected to participate in the Power of Ten leadership academy for the coming year. Participants will join a network of peers in a series of learning experiences that commence November, 2023 and culminate in October, 2024.
Geared toward graduates from the last six years, Power of Ten is an interactive program for the next generation of veterinarians to help you learn the practical skills needed to find success in and outside of your veterinary career. Every veterinarian deserves a fulfilling career, but without the proper foundation, you can quickly feel over your head:
- Work can leave you feeling isolated and overwhelmed
- You don’t feel equipped to handle challenging situations
- Expectations and pressures from work impact your relationships
- You’re not sure you have what it takes to perform at a high level
- Educational debt seems impossible to overcome
- It’s difficult to find space for authentic conversations
Participation in the Power of Ten creates a spirit of community and participants build lasting bonds with other members of the leadership academy class.
In-person learning experiences are scheduled to minimize the impact on working hours — and the entire program is designed to garner support from practice owners who recognize their key responsibility in developing human potential.
Dr. Kristi Wubben, recognized for her leadership within the veterinary profession, is the curriculum coach. She’ll be assisted by subject matter experts, veterinary mentors, and certified facilitators in helping Power of Ten participants grow through in-depth, high-impact learning experiences.
Participants will receive full tuition scholarships to the program — plus complimentary registration to WSVMA’s 2024 Pacific Northwest Veterinary Conference in Tacoma.
