WSVMA DVM: Masterclass Webinar – Overview and What’s New in Small Animal Diabetes Mellitus

November 10, 2023

Join us Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at 12pm for our webinar Overview and What’s New in Small Animal Diabetes Mellituswith Dr. Jillian Haines. Diabetes Mellitus is a common endocrinopathy seen in our canine and feline patients. Most cases can and will be managed in general practice by the pet’s regular veterinarian. This lecture will discuss many of the common considerations that go into diagnosis, treatment, and management of canine and feline diabetes mellitus, some of the complications that can arise, and go through new updates on the disease.

Dr. Jillian Haines completed her veterinary degree at Washington State University (WSU) in 2009 and her small animal internal medicine residency at Mississippi State University in 2014. She has been a faculty member at WSU since completing her residency. She is boarded in small animal internal medicine and is an active clinician in the medicine department. While her main research interests are in canine megaesophagus and platelet function and therapy, she has been teaching students and practitioners about canine and feline endocrinopathies for the past 8 years.

All monthly webinars are free for members. They’re recorded and made available on-demand, accessible through the WSVMA website under Education/DVM Masterclass. Recorded webinars provide a link to take an exam at the end so that credit can be received for non-live CE.
