WSVMA DVM: Masterclass Webinar – Are you crispy? It’s not your fault!

December 2, 2022

Join us Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 at 12pm for our webinar – Are you crispy? It’s not your fault! with Dr. Wendy Hauser. Burnout is a psychological syndrome that results from chronic workplace stress that is not managed. It is characterized by emotional and physical exhaustion, feelings of isolation, defeat and a belief that personal efforts don’t make a difference. Most strategies to manage burnout are employee centered, placing the burden of solving the problem on the employee. This is misguided because burnout is a work-related problem, created by the workplace. Changes to the workplace are fundamental to mitigate burnout. During this presentation, the viewer will examine burnout: what it is, why it happens and what can be done to lessen this devastating occupational hazard. In this course, participants will examine:

  1. What is burnout and how does it impact veterinary hospitals?
  2. What are the 12 main causes of burnout in the veterinary profession?
  3. What six strategies can be used to address systemic workplace issues in veterinary hospitals that lead to burnout?

Wendy Hauser, DVM is the founder of Peak Veterinary Consulting and has practiced for 30+ years as an associate, practice owner and relief veterinarian. All monthly webinars are free for members. They’re recorded and made available on-demand, accessible through the WSVMA website under CE Events/DVM Masterclass. Recorded webinars provide a link to take an exam at the end so that credit can be received for non-live CE.

Note: Gov. Inslee’s COVID-19 emergency order and the temporary allowance for unlimited non-interactive CE ended Oct. 31. However, VBOG will allow veterinarians and veterinary technicians until Jan. 31 to make the shift back to predominantly live, interactive CE. As a reminder, only ten out of thirty CE hours may be “preprogrammed” or non-interactive.

Whether you can join us live or later, don’t miss this important webinar. Register online at the WSVMA website. See the full Masterclass calendar here. We’re bringing timely topics in a convenient format meant to benefit you and your practice.
