The Pacific Northwest Veterinary Conference (PNWVC) is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever! Set to take place from September 22 to 24, 2023, this annual gathering of veterinary professionals promises a blend of education, networking, and pure enjoyment. While the conference undoubtedly caters to the thirst for knowledge and professional growth, it also knows how to have a good time. Let’s take a closer look at some of the fun offerings awaiting you at this year’s PNWVC.
Exhibit Hall Experience: Meet the Innovators
Exhibitors are the backbone of any successful veterinary conference, and the PNWVC is no exception. These industry experts bring the latest tools and trends right to your fingertips. Make sure to visit their booths to stay updated on the cutting-edge advancements that can enhance your practice. Plus, when you engage with exhibitors, you have the chance to win fabulous prizes, adding a thrilling element of surprise to your conference experience.
On-site Massage: Find Your Zen
Amidst the bustling conference schedule, taking a moment to unwind is essential. The PNWVC recognizes this need, and this year, they’ve got something special in store. On both Friday and Saturday, attendees can indulge in a 10-minute chair massage provided by expert therapist Marisa Stewart. It’s a fantastic opportunity to relax, de-stress, and rejuvenate, ensuring you’re at your best for the rest of the event.
Friday Night VetFest: Let the Celebration Begin!
After a day filled with insightful sessions and networking opportunities, the fun doesn’t stop at the PNWVC. Friday night, head to the 5th floor for the highly anticipated VetFest. Here, you can enjoy light appetizers and a no-host bar while mingling with colleagues, both old and new. A DJ will be spinning your favorite tunes, making it a night to remember. The best part? This celebration is included with your registration, ensuring you get the most out of your conference experience.
Morning Yoga: Start the Day Right
The PNWVC not only cares about your professional growth but your overall well-being as well. On Saturday morning at 7:00 AM, you can join a rejuvenating yoga session. Led by a skilled instructor, this class combines breathwork with mindful movement to help you start your day with a fresh mind and a relaxed body. It’s an all-levels class, so whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a newbie, you’re welcome to participate. Don’t forget to bring a mat or towel for added comfort.
22nd Annual Fun Run: Get Active for a Cause
For those who crave an active start to their Saturday, the 22nd annual 5K Fun Run/Walk and 10 Mile Bike Ride is the perfect choice. This event, held along the scenic Ruston Way waterfront with breathtaking views of Commencement Bay, lets you kickstart your day with a healthy dose of exercise and camaraderie. What’s even better is that the $25 donation for participation benefits the WSVMA Past Presidents’ Scholarship Fund, making your morning sweat session doubly meaningful.
WSVMA’s Awards Luncheon: Celebrate Excellence
The PNWVC culminates with the WSVMA’s Awards Luncheon on Saturday at 11:50 AM. This is the time to come together, enjoy a delectable plated lunch, and celebrate the shining stars of veterinary medicine in Washington State. Awards will be presented for various categories, including Veterinarian of the Year, Outstanding Veterinary Service, Distinguished Veterinary Staff, WSU Faculty, Allied Industry Partner, and Humane Animal Welfare. It’s an event you don’t want to miss, but remember, you must RSVP to attend.
Fundraising Silent Auction: Help Us Raise Money and Feel Good!
In conjunction with the Pacific Northwest Veterinary Conference, the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association (WSVMA) and the Washington State Animal Health Foundation (WSAHF) are hosting a Fundraising Silent Auction on Friday, September 22, 2023. The goal of the silent auction is threefold: to raise money to provide student scholarships, to offer the veterinary community resources to assist animals in Washington State through the Veterinary Charitable Care Fund, and to provide grants for projects related to disaster relief.
