Please urge your representative to pass the Rural Veterinary Workforce Act (H.R. 4355). Formerly known as the Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program (VMLRP) Enhancement Act, this critical piece of legislation would increase access to veterinary services in USDA-designated rural shortage areas by ending the federal tax on VMLRP awards.
The government is currently taxing itself. By ending this practice, more veterinarians will be able to participate in the VMLRP, more underserved rural communities will have access to the essential services of a veterinarian, and current funding for the VMLRP will be better utilized. Inaction from Congress will jeopardize animal and public health. The veterinary community needs YOUR help to get this passed into law.
Thank you for your support in protecting, promoting, and advancing the veterinary profession.
