Veterinarians! We need you to engage with your local lawmakers on an issue that will help our state and strengthen our profession for years to come. Also, we need you to please let the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association (WSVMA) know what your lawmaker tells you when they respond.
We need to educate more veterinarians, a new generation of veterinarians! And we need your help to convince legislators.
The WSVMA is leading a coalition of advocates asking lawmakers to increase enrollment at Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine (WSU-CVM). Now is the time. It has been 20 years since the number of seats available at WSU-CVM for our state’s next generation vets has been increased.
Take a moment to read the background below or download the Fact Sheet.
WSU advises us that they had around 2,400 applications for the College of Veterinary Medicine with many of these being highly eligible In-State students. If this funding was approved some of these students could be starting school as early as this year.
And then, please take the time to find your local lawmaker and help educate them too. Find Your District
