The annual SAVMA Symposium is the largest veterinary student convention in the world, and this year it will be held at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from Mar. 17-19. The symposium is a national conference organized solely for veterinary students and provides our students with many great opportunities to participate in wet labs to gain hands-on clinical experience, attend lectures that cover topics ranging from public health to environmental and conservation concerns and to connect and network with veterinary students from veterinary schools across the United States.
The SAVMA Symposium is one of the best learning opportunities available to WSU veterinary students outside of the Washington State University Veterinary curriculum. This year, WSU SAVMA is planning to send 30-35 students to the Symposium in Illinois, and they need to raise approximately $800 per student in order to make this happen. Cash donations are extremely appreciated, as well as any new or garage sale or eBay-like items, which they will gladly use to auction off at the College of Veterinary Medicine week long silent auction, to be held from Feb. 27 – Mar. 3 in Bustad 224 on the WSU campus. Any donations of funds, auction items, participation in the auction, or help are all greatly appreciated!
All donated items will need to be received by February 25 to ensure they are on the auction website platform. Download the auction donation form if you are interested in donating or assisting with the auction!
Monetary or item donations are also tax deductible (see below for more information). More information regarding participating in the auction (auction link, payment options, schedule, etc…) will come at a later date. Please contact Samantha Palmer ([email protected]) or Hayden Erickson ([email protected]) for any questions or concerns. WSU SAVMA and veterinary students thank you for your consideration!
Tax deductible donations can be made payable to: Washington State University Foundation.
