The Pacific Northwest Veterinary Conference (PNWVC) has concluded for another year of premier CE for the veterinary community. We took over the entire Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center and spread out to nearby hotels. Records were broken as we topped 1,300 attendees, including veterinarians, veterinary students, practice managers, technicians, assistants, technician students, vendor representatives and speakers. Over 150 hours of CE were offered with 63 speakers across multiple tracks.
Special thanks go to our many generous sponsors and exhibitors which attendees can still connect with on the app. Nearly 90 companies and organizations were represented, filling up the exhibit hall.
On Friday night attendees gathered for VetFest. The DJ played favorite songs, and some danced the evening away while others mingled and caught up with old friends. There were even rumored to be a few board members getting on their groove on the dance floor. It was a relaxing and fun evening.
The Washington State Animal Health Foundation held a silent auction and raised over $12,000 for the Vets Helping Pets charitable care fund and student scholarships. Auction items included vacations to South Africa, wine tasting events, rounds of golf, rally car racing, museum tickets, gourmet food and a host of other fun items.
Attendees downloaded the conference app for the weekend and we were happy to welcome over 1k unique users who spent over 97k minutes connecting, taking notes, and utilizing PNWVC apps many tools across their mobile and web devices. We ended the weekend with over 229k total engagements!
A round of applause goes to the Program Committee for their time and energy in making the conference program a great success. The committee is comprised of Drs. Corrie Hines and Craig McConnel who serve as co-chairs along with Dr. Mike Anderson, Dr. Ron Colton, Ryan Frazier, LVT, Hayden Milligan, SHRM-CP, Jessica Osborn, CVPM, Dr. Carolyn Saylor, and Dr. Eric Sutten. A special shout-out to WSVMA Staff who worked tirelessly to pull off an amazing experience.
