The election for the WSVMA Board of Directors will be held at the Annual Membership Meeting on October 2, 2021. The meeting will be in conjunction with the Pacific Northwest Veterinary Conference which is being held virtually. Ballots will be sent out in August in accordance with WSVMA Bylaws and will include a proxy form to sign and return to the WSVMA for members who are not able to attend the Conference.
Serving on the current Board of Directors include Dr. Rick DeBowes, president, Dr. Blair de Vries, vice president, and Dr. Jennifer Bennett, secretary. Drs. Jennifer Koenig, Gary Marshall, and Sally Thompson-Iritani serve as directors. Dr. Thompson-Iritani was appointed last month to serve the remaining term for Dr. Lindsey Hornickel who departed to accept a fellowship from the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Board members whose terms are expiring this year include Drs. Jennifer Koenig and Gary Marshall. They have both completed one full term and are eligible to serve another term, although Dr. Koenig has decided not to run again.
There are two candidates running for two open positions, both with three-year terms beginning Fall 2021.

When members vote at the Annual Membership Meeting in October or when they return their proxies, there will also be an opportunity for a write-in vote.
Watch your inboxes in mid-August for the meeting notice and proxy. According to WSVMA Bylaws, ten percent of the membership must vote, either at the Annual Membership Meeting or by the return of their proxy.
