Are you looking for a way to be more involved with the WSVMA? Do you have an interest in the relationship between our profession and state legislation? Do you ever think that you’d like to contribute to our profession on a level outside of clinical practice?
Our profession has seen extraordinary change over the years, never before so apparent as with the recent global and local events affecting our communities. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we have an active role advocating the needs of our profession to the legislators responsible for creating, amending, and upholding the regulations governing how we practice day to day.
As a veterinarian or veterinary professional, you might never have imagined using your knowledge and skill set outside or the clinical or industry setting. There is, however, a strong need for our input in the legislative process to help our lawmakers understand the impacts that their decisions have on our community.
The WSVMA is looking for qualified veterinary professionals with legislative interest or experience and a passion for veterinary advocacy to serve on a volunteer committee, the WSVMA Legislative Advocacy Committee, aimed to strengthen the relationship between veterinary medicine and our legislators in the state of Washington.
If you are interested in learning more about serving on this committee or would like to apply, please reach out by contacting Candace Joy at [email protected] or (800) 399-7862.
