Hospitalists will serve the critical functions of providing care for hospitalized patients from every specialty service, treating emergency patients and facilitating patient transfers. The hospitalist will oversee after-hours hospital operations including overseeing staff (technicians, veterinary assistants, and receptionists), providing updates on hospitalized patients, and facilitating communication with clients and referring veterinarians. The hospitalist will work closely with the BBVSH criticalist in a team-oriented approach to managing emergency and hospitalized patients with the highest level of care.
