The FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is asking equine, bovine and small ruminant practitioners to participate in a survey about antiparasitic drug use and resistance in ruminants and horses. Prominent pharmacy association calls for pharmacies to have veterinary drug reference on hand

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) has issued a call for pharmacies to have ready access to a veterinary drug reference such as Plumb’s Veterinary Drug Handbook.  In response to the increasing number of medication errors by pharmacists, NABP added to the 2015 Model State Pharmacy Act and Model Rules, language that each pharmacy shall have access to a veterinary reference. Washington Tick Surveillance Project results are in

The Washington State Department of Health recently released the results of their 2014-2015 tick surveillance and testing along with a summary of the last five years of tick data collection. This survey confirms that we remain an area with low incidence of tick borne disease, but it does show that we do have Ixodes ticks carrying Borrelia burgdorferi (agent of lyme disease) and Anaplasma phagocytophilum.
