Using the FreeStyle Libre to Monitor Glucose Levels in Dogs and Cats

Sherri Wilson
DVM, DACVIM (SA)

The FreeStyle Libre is a continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) developed for human diabetics. Once attached, it generates 14 days of glucose readings…while the patient is at home. The owner doesn’t need to learn to collect BG samples, they just periodically scan a Reader over the Sensor that is attached to their pet. In this session we will learn how to attach it securely, how to get the data from it and some tips to know about interpreting the data.

Monitoring Trilostane Without Using ACTH

Cortrosyn is in short supply and is also expensive. In this session, we will review the studies that support the monitoring of Trilostane without using the ACTH stimulation test: when that is appropriate and when it is not.
