WSVMA DVM: Masterclass Webinar – Understanding Grief, Bereavement and Loss: Current Theories for Supporting Clients, Self and Colleagues

  |   Continuing Education

Join us Tuesday, June 18 at 12pm for our webinar, Understanding Grief, Bereavement and Loss: Current Theories for Supporting Clients, Self and Colleagues. Carrie La Jeunesse, DVM, CT, CFE will be our guest speaker. Dr. La Jeunesse’s presentation will provide a summary of current theories and concepts in thanatology (death/dying/bereavement). Myths and outdated theories will be dispelled so that participants have accurate information and sound practices to apply in the work setting. Objectives of the webinar are to:

  • Understand how to put theories and concepts into practice to companion clients and co-workers, and support self, through the diverse landscape of loss experiences
  • Negotiate the intricacies of end-of-life decision-making in a way that is strongly grounded in biomedical ethics
  • Recognize common reactions and responses to loss, and what healthy coping strategies can be used to ease navigation of loss-related suffering.

All monthly webinars are free for members. They’re recorded and made available on-demand, accessible through the WSVMA website under CE Events/DVM Masterclass. Recorded webinars provide a link to take an exam at the end so that credit can be received for non-live CE.
