RAIVE to be added as an approved source of veterinary CE in Washington

As of May 19, 2016, the Registry of Alternative and Integrative Veterinary Medical Education (RAIVE) will be added to the list of approved continuing education sources in Washington. RAIVE approves programs in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAVM) by developing and applying uniform standards to continuing education courses similar to how the Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE) approves courses for conventional veterinary medicine.

RAIVE was established to judge the appropriateness of CAVM continuing education courses and consists of veterinarians recognized as CAVM experts including those who are board certified, have one or more advanced degrees in addition to their DVM, are veterinary school faculty, or who hold advanced training in CAVM.  The field is vast and changes rapidly and RAIVE allows for experts to evaluate course material and scientific validity for CAVM courses submitted for approval.
